Import & export
Goods across borders, on terms you have read.
Importing into Canada or exporting out of it, the difficulty is rarely finding somebody who will sell. It is making two offers comparable and knowing what a price actually includes.
What we do with an import requirement
You give us the product, the specification, the quantity and the destination. We take that to suppliers in the categories and regions where it is likely to be met, with your identity removed, and we give each of them the same written brief and the same deadline. What comes back is normalised before you see it — the same unit, the same currency at a rate we record, and freight and duty either included on the same basis or flagged as excluded.
You receive one quotation. It names the delivery term, says what is in the price and what is not, carries a validity date, and states what happens when you accept it.
And an export requirement
The same process pointed the other way: a buyer outside Canada, Canadian goods, and the same obligation to be explicit about who is responsible for what and at which point. Export work carries documentation that import work does not, and we would rather raise that at the quotation stage than discover it against a shipping date.
The delivery term is not a detail
Two quotations for the same goods at the same number are different prices if the delivery terms differ. Every quotation we issue names its term.
- EXW — at the supplier's door
The lowest-looking number on any comparison, and the one that leaves every cost of moving the goods with you.
- FOB — loaded at the port of origin
Common in container trade. Risk and cost pass to you once the goods are on board.
- CIF — carriage and insurance to your port
Includes the sea freight and a policy, but stops at the destination port, not your warehouse.
- DAP — delivered to the place you named
The number closest to what you will actually pay, which is why it is usually the highest.
Tell us the Incoterm if you have one in mind
The enquiry form has no Incoterm field yet, so put it in the notes — "quote DAP Toronto" or "FOB any main Chinese port" is enough. If you do not have a preference, say that instead and we will quote on the term that makes the comparison honest and tell you why we chose it.

Importing or exporting?
Send the specification, the quantity and the destination. We will come back on what is sourceable and on which delivery term makes the comparison fair.
